Ladybirds

Adalia bipunctata (2 spot Ladybird)
Ladybirds
Checking various books and the web seems to give differing counts as to how many species of Ladybirds there are in the UK, but it would seem that there are just over 20 that are more easily recognised as Ladybirds and the actual count is around 42 - 46 species depending upon what source you read. So my collection here is just the tip and so far just the more common ones.

Ladybirds are of course beetles but I have given them a page of their own and even though the Americans call them Ladybugs they are beetles and not bugs. They are all members of the Coccinellidae family.
